Crewe Blog (extract)
Today's pretty significant in terms of Crewe's future. The ongoing process to map out the town's future "vision" sees a meeting of minds, consultants, experts and "stakeholders". Indeed, Economic Consultants SQW will report to the great and the good in terms of how their research has progressed and how they will implement the much-anticipated action plan. Exciting stuff. It is, actually, and if you believe the words of Councillor Wesley Fitzgerald then Crewe is the number one priority for Cheshire East. Some will scoff, but when I've grabbed a few words with MP Edward Timpson over the last 20 months he has always stated that Cheshire East must appreciate the importance of Crewe, both regionally and nationally. So there's hope that something will come of this latest attempt to pull together numerous schemes, plans and grand ideas and actually achieve something for Crewe. Hurray.
